Black Himalayan Salt, also known as kala namak goes by many names. It is a salt rich in sulfur which accounts for its pungent, rich, egg like taste and is used as a condiment in many South Asian and Indian delicacies, savory snacks, salads, fruits and soups. Vegans and chefs use Black Himalayan to mimic and enhance the taste of eggs, and when ground, the color shades between purple and pink.
